Sen. Imoke is an International Relations (Major) and Economics (Minor) at the University of Maryland, College Park in the United States, he graduated in 1982, and went on to study Law at the University of Buckingham, England, earning an LLB degree in 1985. He went further to pursue a Masters in Law at the American University in Washington, D. C. In 1992, aged 30, he was elected a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, becoming the youngest legislator in the history of The Senate.

In July 2003, Senator Imoke was appointed Nigeria’s Minister of Power and Steel – at a point, doubling as Minister of Education. As Minister of Power and Steel, Imoke implemented comprehensive reforms in the power sector including the management of the passage of the Electric Power Sector Reform Bill in 2005, which resulted in the promulgation of the Nigerian Power Sector Reform Act of 2005, and consequentially, led to the establishment of the Nigerian Energy Regulatory Commission (NERC), the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) and the unbundling of the National Electric Power Authority (NEPA). Also under Imoke’s leadership, the Ministry devised, and began the implementation of a 25-year national energy development plan, embarking on the largest power programme in the world at the time – the National Integrated Power Project (NIPP).

Senator Liyel Imoke was the Former Executive Governor of Cross River State and has received many awards, including the Thisday Award as Best Governor in Tourism Development for 2008. He is a member of the Nigeria Bar Association, Honorary fellow of the Nigeria Society of Engineers, Fellow of the Institute of Public Administration, amongst others. In recognition of his outstanding contributions to humanity, Senator Imoke was awarded a Doctor of Law Degree, HonorisCausa by the Imo State University, where he delivered the 6th Pre-Convocation lecture on “Fostering Rights and Liberties through education” in 2009 and in 2010 by the University of Calabar, Calabar.


Alhaji Sani Dangote serves as Group Vice President at Dangote Industries Limited. Mr. Dangote is an accomplished businessman with investments in key sectors of the economy including manufacturing, agriculture, banking and oil services. He serves as the Deputy Chairman of African Gum Arabic Producers Association, two- time President of Lagos Polo Club and serves as President of Fertilisers Producers and Suppliers Association (FERSAN).

He served as the Consul-General of the Romanian Embassy in Nigeria. He served as a Director of MRS Group. He serves as a Director of National Salt Company Nigeria PLC. He serveson the Board of several other companies including Nigerian Textile Mills Plc., Nutra Sweet Ltd., Gum Arabic Ltd., Dangote Textile Mills Limited, Alsan Insurance Brokers, Dan-Hydro Company Ltd., Dansa Food Processing Company Ltd and Dangote Farms Ltd. He serves as Non Executive Director of M.R.S. Oil and Gas Company Limited and Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc. He served as Director of Dangote Flour Mills PLC until October 4, 2012. Apart from being a member of several Chambers of Commerce, he is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Shipping of Nigeria. Mr. Dangote is an alumnus of Harvard Business School in the United States of America.


Chief (Dr.) Asuquo Ekpenyong, M.Sc. (Banking And Finance), DSC; FCIB, OON – Chairman, Chief Ekpenyong, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, is a graduate of the School of Accountancy, Glasgow and University of Ibadan, Ibadan. A professional banker par excellence, he is an astute manager of resources and a very dependable professional. Chief Ekpenyong is one individual who has been privileged to have a career spanning through Central Banking, Commercial banking, Development banking and Investment Banking.

His working life has seen him through such reputable Organizations as Central Bank of Nigeria, Chase Manhattan Bank Plc, New York and Midland Bank Plc (HSBC), London. Chief Ekpenyong was the pioneer Managing Director and Chief Executive of Equity and Investment Company Limited, a position he held for seven years before withdrawing. He is currently the Chairman of several companies including Channel View Hotels, Calabar. An accomplished Nigerian with a track record of achievement in multi-disciplinary areas.


Yvonne Ike Fasinro holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics. She started her career as an auditor with Ernst and Young International and has been an FSA registered representative since 1994. She was a Managing Director at JP Morgan, where she spent 15 years of her career until 2009. Ms. Ike is an internationally regarded investment banker credited with pioneering a number of ground-breaking transactions in West Africa region.

She has more than 18 years’ experience in financial services, including capital market operations and fixed-income, derivatives and equities products. Over the course of her career, she has led senior teams in New York, Geneva, Hong Kong, Nigeria and South Africa.

She is presently the CEO West Africa, Renaissance Group (Investment Banking).


Ini Onuk is the Lead Consultant/CEO of ThistlePraxis Consulting Limited (TPC). A 2008 Draper Hills Fellow on Democracy and Development at Stanford University California and an alumna of the Harvard Business School Executive Education Program, Ini holds a degree in International Relations & Diplomacy and a Masters degree in Management.

Prior to setting up ThistlePraxis Consulting Limited, Ini served as the Executive Secretary of Women in Management and Business (WIMBIZ), and the Executive Director, Defence for Children Inter’l – Nigeria Section, and currently sits on its Board as a Trustee.

Leading impact and needs assessment projects for civil society organizations within West Africa and beyond, Ini completed a Training module on “Children and Armed Conflicts in West Africa”, which has became a major reference material on similar issues across the continent. As a former consultant with the Women, Gender and Development Directorate of the African Union and the African Centre for Gender & Development within the UN Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), Ini has been instrumental in developing several management and development tools that build the capacity of ordinary Africans.

A multi-talented team player, management consultant, researcher, lecturer and trainer, Ini still consults on issues that cut across business development, corporate governance, organizational development, leadership, mentoring, corporate social responsibility among others; and serves as a Volunteer Trainer with Fate Foundation. Ini sits on Boards of various organizations and currently serves as a Think -Tank member of the World Entrepreneurship Form and a Member of the World Economic Forum’ s Global Agenda Council on Africa.

Dr. Alex Otti was the Former GMD/CEO Diamond Bank Plc, was the Executive Director South of First Bank Plc. He graduated from the University of Port Harcourt with a First class honours degree in Economics in 1988. He subsequently received an MBA from the University of Lagos in 1994. He started his banking career with Nigeria International Bank Limited, a subsidiary of Citibank N.Y. in 1989 where he worked in Operations department. He moved on to Nigerian Intercontinental Merchant Bank Ltd (Intercontinental Bank Plc). At Intercontinental, he was at various times in the Treasury and Financial Services and Corporate Banking Divisions. In 1992, he joined the then SocieteBancaire Nigeria Ltd (Merchant Bankers), a subsidiary of Banque SBA Paris. He left as Senior Manager in 1996. Towards the end of 1996, he moved to United Bank for Africa Plc as Principal Manager, heading Corporate Banking Sector, South. His major responsibility was the development of the Oil and Gas businesses for the Bank. In the year 2000, he was promoted Assistant General Manager.

In May 2001, he joined First Bank of Nigeria PLC as an Assistant General Manager with responsibility for Energy Group. In April 2004, he was promoted Deputy General Manager. In September 2005, Dr. Otti was appointed Executive Director. As Executive Director, he started as Head of Commercial Banking and subsequently, Head of the Regional Businesses in the South-South and South-East geo-political zones comprising over 180 branches. He had served on the Board of several companies and presently sits on the Governing Council of two Nigerian universities – University of Port Harcourt and Babcock University.

In addition to receiving an honorary doctorate degree in Business Administration, he is an Alumnus of Harvard Business School (AMP 177). He also trained at Stanford Business School, California, Wharton Business School (University of Pennsylvania) and Columbia Business School, New York. He is a member of the Institute of Directors and Honorary Senior Member of Chartered Institute of Bankers. He loves playing squash, listening to music, reading and meeting people.


Senator Udoma Udo Udoma is currently the Minister of Budget and Planning who served as Director of First Hydrocarbon Nigeria Limited. Senator Udoma was a two-term member of the Nigerian Senate from 1999-2007 where he served variously as Chief Whip, Chairman of the Committee on National Planning, Revenue Mobilisation and Poverty Alleviation, and Chairman of the Appropriations Committee. He served as the first Chairman of the Corporate Affairs Commission in 1991-1992 and is currently the part time Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission. He has served the Nation in other roles such as Special Adviser to the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources in 1993 and Chairman of the Presidential Committee Waivers, Incentives and Concessions in 2007.

Mr.Udoma specializes in advising on Nigerian investment laws and the investment environment generally, particularly in the petroleum, energy and natural resources sectors; advising Nigerian and international companies on company law, corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions and the raising of financing in the capital and money markets, as well as on major construction and engineering contracts.

Senator Udoma is the Chairman of UAC of Nigeria Plc. and is on the boards of other companies including Unilever Plc. He is the founding Partner of the commercial law firm UdoUdoma& Belo-Osagie. He holds a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Jurisprudence, a Bachelors of Civil Laws Degree and a Masters of Arts (HonorisCausa) from St. Catherine’s College, Oxford University
