The LCD programme builds the leadership skills of aged 10-18 youths in public secondary skills to develop their innate leadership potential through self-improving, participatory, action oriented and problem-solving training activities. Designed in a 15 modules curriculum, it inspires these youths to personally lead themselves, their peers and lead community change initiatives/projects in their communities.

I learnt that no one is too small to be a leader, vision helps to shape what you do and goal setting helps one overcome procrastination. I have been able to organize other members so that we can visit the sick. I have been able to put in my little resources together so that I can accomplish my goals and project even when others fail to do so. Yes the LCD program has helped improved my academic performance in a positive way because I was provided with scholarship fees which helped me concentrate in my studies because that has sometimes been my challenge and because I no more struggle by myself to pay fees, I now read when I was supposed to go work for my fees. So, I have risen from 2nd and 3rd position to 1st position in my class which has now qualified me to become the senior prefect.

In the LCD Program, I learnt to set goal and plan for the future, I learnt how to be a good leader to myself and to others and learnt to have good values like truthfulness. In the pharmacy where I work during holidays and off-school hours, because of what I learnt in the program I began displaying some of this leadership skills and my boss observed me and decided to make me a manager in the pharmacy. Right now, I am a manager in Evan Medicals, so I have succeeded to put my leadership skills into practice in my working place. The program has helped me in my academics as I can now manage my personal study time and plan all my academic work perfectly

Before the LCD program, I use to be very ashamed of myself. I didn’t like anything about myself but after the program I no longer feel that way about myself and I have been able to impact others like myself just as I was impacted with what I was taught.
