The Capacity Building Workshop for the Lafarge Community Relations Committee and stakeholders was a comprehensive two-day engagement designed to strengthen participants’ understanding of Lafarge Africa Plc’s corporate values, sustainability commitments, operational processes, and long-term partnership strategies with host communities.
The workshop convened a diverse group of participants from host and impacted communities including Akansoko, Akamkpa, Akwa Ikot Effanga, Mfamosing, Obutong, Mbobui, Ekong Anaku, Kasuk, Essien Town, and Diamond. Representatives from government ministries, civil society organizations, youth groups, women groups, and community-based structures also participated.
This broad representation ensured inclusive dialogue, shared learning, and collective strengthening of mechanisms for community engagement, project monitoring, accountability, and peaceful coexistence.

Training methodologies included role plays, group exercises, breakout sessions, case studies, scenario analysis, general discussions, Q and A sessions, myths versus facts exercises, icebreakers, and energizers.
