The 2023 Emerging Political Leaders Fellowship began in February, attracting a highly competitive group of individuals who applied to join the second cohort. Throughout the selection process, the fellows exhibited intentionality, grit, commitment, and a clear determination to grow. They stood out due to their compelling vision, the ability to express their thoughts effectively, and their passion for the Nigerian project. We have great hopes that the Emerging Political Leaders Fellowship will positively impact their political journey. After a rigorous selection process and undergoing the different phases of the Fellowship requirements, we have chosen 25 exceptional individuals who will embark on a transformative journey of learning, collaboration, and leadership.
On Friday, May 26, we officially introduced and immersed the 25 Fellows in an Onboarding session for the Emerging Political Leaders Fellowship. This project is a fully-funded, non-partisan, year-long multisite Political Leadership development initiative aimed at nurturing and preparing young Nigerians for leadership roles at the local, regional, and national levels.
Over the next few months, the selected fellows from various backgrounds across Nigeria will have access to a comprehensive curriculum delivered by experienced Faculty members. They will also receive technical support from an experienced Advisory Council. This fully-funded program will be implemented through a hybrid learning approach, combining onsite and virtual elements. It will focus on building fellows’ capacity, fostering peer-to-peer mentoring, and providing them with the opportunity to be mentored by political officeholders. The program will conclude with an immersive physical Bootcamp experience, allowing fellows to network and present their capstone projects.
As a Foundation, we have full confidence that this Fellowship will offer fellows the chance to gain clarity, support, and crucial knowledge for their political journey.
