Call for LCD Programme 2021 Facilitators for Corps Members in Cross River, Nigeria

The Leadership and Community Development (LCD) programme builds the leadership skills of youths aged 10 – 18, in public secondary schools with skills to develop their innate leadership potential through self-improving, participatory, action-oriented and problem-solving training activities. Designed in a 15 modules curriculum, it inspires these youths to personally lead themselves, their peers and lead community change initiatives/projects in their communities.

LCD Facilitators are required and expected to do the following:

Training of Trainers (ToT) Session: Selected Batch B Corps members from the target LGAs would be required to attend a 3-day ToT workshop in Calabar which will equip them for the project. Accommodation and transportation logistics would be provided for by the Foundation.
This training is scheduled for April 7-9, 2021 in Calabar.

LCD Programme Facilitation: Trained corps members are required to return to their station and use the training manual to train a group of 30 students in their assigned school twice (2x) a week based on an agreed schedule between the corps member and the school. All arrangements with the Ministry of Education and the school of programme implementation is finalized by the Foundation.
This in-class facilitation for selected students is scheduled for April 19 to October 30, 2021.

LCD Community Projects: Trained corps members are required to supervise and work with LCD students to identify issues in the target school and immediate community in which students can organize around to design and implement solutions with the guidance and support of the Foundation. This community projects completion is scheduled for May 28 – October 30, 2021.

The Bridge Awards: Corps members are required to participate in the 2021 Bridge Awards event where outstanding corps members would be awarded for best performances and duly recognized for their efforts and contribution with a certificate. Although corps members contributions on this programme are strictly in a volunteering capacity, a stipend would be made available to all selected corps members for their contributions to the programme. The Bridge Awards is scheduled to hold November 13, 2021.
