Teachers Support Programme (TSP) – October 2023

In the vibrant month of October, The Bridge Leadership Foundation embarked on a transformative teacher training journey, thanks to the generous sponsorship of the T.Y. Danjuma Foundation. This initiative aimed to empower and equip educators in the Akpabuyo and Bakassi Local Government Areas of Cross River State, Nigeria. The programme unfolded over three enlightening days, celebrating the noble teaching profession and its crucial role in shaping our future.

On the 2nd of October, 2023, Teacher Stella Ogar, a beacon of inspiration, led a thought-provoking session on “Leadership and Personal Vision-Boarding.” The day commenced with a spirit of motivation and self-discovery. The following day, the dynamic Mr. Rotimi Eyitayo, CEO of Team Masters Limited, graced us with his expertise. His session on “The Growth Mindset” delved into the power of positive thinking and how it shapes not only our students’ lives but our own. The final day saw Mr. Rotimi Eyitayo return to lead the concluding session on “Digital Literacy and Tech Education.” In a world increasingly shaped by technology, the participants gained valuable insights into preparing their students for the digital age. Each day of the training was enriched by the presence of over 180 dedicated teachers, eager to expand their knowledge and teaching techniques.

As we wrapped up this inspiring programme, we celebrated 2023 World Teachers Day with a radio discussion titled “The Teachers We Need for the Education We Want: The Global Imperative to Reverse the Teacher Shortage.” Our esteemed guests on this enlightening broadcast included Professor Alice Asim, a Professor of Educational Evaluation and Trustee of the T.Y. Danjuma Foundation; Rotimi Eyitayo, CEO of Team Masters Limited; and Martha Wilfred, Programme Officer at The Bridge Leadership Foundation. Their profound insights highlighted the urgency of addressing teacher shortages and the pivotal role educators play in our society.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the T.Y. Danjuma Foundation for their unwavering support in our mission to equip and empower teachers throughout the state with essential pedagogical skills. With your support, we are fostering high-quality learning, encouraging exploration, and promoting active classroom engagement. Together, we are making a profound impact on the future of education.

In the spirit of empowerment, we look forward to the continued growth of our Teachers Support Programme and its enduring legacy in the lives of teachers and students.
